There are a number of ways that landlords can accept online rent payments from tenants. The most common method is to use a service such as Zelle or Venmo. These services allow landlords to set up an account and then add their tenants as users. Once the landlord has added the tenant, the tenant can then send money to the landlord through the service.

The pros of using those apps are that they are easy to set up and transfer occurs almost in real-time. However, those apps usually limit the amount you can transfer in a short period and for a landlord managing over 5 units, those limits tend to be insufficient. Also, the seemingly real-time transfer only happens between two accounts within the application. If the landlord were to withdraw their fund into an external bank account, it may take a few days and additional fees.

Another way that landlords can accept online rent payments is by using a credit card processing service such as Square or Stripe. These services allow landlords to set up an account and then add their credit card information. Once the landlord has added their credit card information, the tenant can then pay rent by entering their credit card information into the system. However, credit card transfer often comes with significant fees, usually around 2.9%, making this option less economic.

The last option, which is the most economic, is to use an ACH transfer. The ACH network is a network of financial institutions that allows for the transfer of funds between accounts. This method is similar to the credit card processing method in that landlords will need to set up an account with a service provider. The landlord will then provide their bank account information to the tenant, who can then initiate an ACH transfer from their own bank account. This option often has lower fees than credit card processing, making it a more economical choice.

In addition to conventional money transfer, some landlord also accepts bitcoin payment for rent. While it is not as common, it provides an additional method of payment for tenants who may prefer to use cryptocurrency. The reason for landlords to accept crypto payment is often beyond convenience, therefore, we won’t discuss more in detail here.

While accepting online payment makes receiving funds easier than getting a paper check in the mail, it does not automatically enforce the late fee if the payment were late. For all those options, tenants often select the amount to initiate, making it impossible to automatically enforce the lease late fee. This is where landlord software like PortfolioBay comes to the rescue. PortfolioBay offers ACH online transfer to collect rent, and automatically enforces late fees based on lease terms entered. This not only makes paying rent much easier, with just a few clicks of buttons, instead of having to manually enter the amount each time, but also encourages on-time payment over time.

Regardless of which online payment option you use, having an option for online rent payment not only makes rent collection easier but also makes it easier for tenants to make the payment, reducing the likelihood of late payment. If you are looking for an option to accept rent payments online, PortfolioBay is a great choice for independent landlords, who self-manage rental properties.

Algorithmic FUE Explained: How Structured Planning Is Changing Hair Transplantation

Few areas of cosmetic surgery have been reshaped by technique and technology as much as hair restoration. Extraction tools have become finer, magnification has improved, and planning has moved from freehand estimates toward structured, protocol-driven work. Yet patients who read about "advanced" or "revolutionary" methods often struggle to separate genuine clinical progress from marketing language. This guide explains how modern FUE works, what it means to plan a transplant algorithmically, how Algorithmic FUE fits into that picture, and how to judge any technology claim critically. From strips to follicular units: a short history For decades, the standard approach to hair transplantation was strip surgery: a thin band of scalp was removed from the back of the head, dissected under microscopes into follicular units, and implanted into the recipient zone. The method works and remains in use for selected cases, but it leaves a linear scar and requires a longer healing period. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) emerged as an alternative in which individual units of one to four hairs are removed directly from the donor area using a small circular punch. The scars are tiny and dispersed, which allows patients to wear short hair without a visible line. As tools and training improved, FUE became the dominant technique worldwide. Its flexibility also created a challenge: because the method can be adapted in many ways, results depend heavily on the surgeon's judgement and discipline. What "algorithmic" planning means in practice In everyday language, an algorithm is simply a defined sequence of decisions. Applied to hair transplantation, it means that the key choices of the operation, where grafts are taken from, which grafts go to which zone, at what angle and density they are implanted, follow a documented logic rather than being made ad hoc during surgery. A structured plan typically addresses several questions in a deliberate order: The value of a structured method is consistency. When each case is reasoned through the same sequence, it is less likely that an important variable will be overlooked on a busy day, and it is easier to review and teach the approach to other physicians. Algorithmic FUE at Hairmedico Clinic Algorithmic FUE is the proprietary technique name used at Hairmedico Clinic in Istanbul, founded and led by Dr. Arslan Musbeh. It describes the clinic's protocol-based approach to planning graft extraction and implantation, and it is applied within a one-patient-per-day schedule so that the surgeon can supervise each step of the procedure. Dr. Arslan Musbeh graduated from Odessa State Medical University in 2000, is an active member of FUE Europe, and has taught as a faculty instructor on the DIU Calvitie programme at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 since 2019. The clinic reports more than 4,500 procedures in total, with more than 3,000 performed personally by Dr. Musbeh. As with any proprietary method, patients should treat the name as a starting point for questions, and ask Dr. Musbeh during the consultation to explain exactly how the protocol applies to their own donor area and hairline. The anatomy of a well-planned FUE procedure Understanding each stage helps patients ask better questions and recognise what a careful operation looks like. Diagnosis and design. The surgeon examines the scalp, evaluates the stability of the hair loss and measures donor density. The hairline is designed with the patient, taking face shape, age and the likely future pattern of recession into account. The design should be reviewed and approved before the operation begins. Extraction. Using a fine punch, follicular units are removed from the donor area. The aim is to harvest evenly and to avoid creating zones that look thin once the hair is cut short. The depth and angle of the punch must match the direction of the follicle, otherwise there is a risk of transection, in which the follicle is cut and cannot grow. Sorting and storage. Grafts are counted, grouped by the number of hairs and kept in a suitable solution while they are outside the body. Short, controlled storage times support survival. Recipient site creation. Small channels are created at a predetermined angle, direction and depth. This stage is decisive for the natural appearance, as it fixes how each graft will sit and how the hair will grow. Implantation. Grafts are placed into the channels with attention to their orientation. Single-hair units go to the leading edge of the hairline, and multi-hair units are positioned behind it. Aftercare and review. The patient receives written instructions and a schedule for reviews during the first year. Tools and technologies: what they do and what they do not...
