The practice of spear hunting increased over time across the globe. Its application was spread across parts of Europe, Scandinavia, pre-Columbus America, the Middle East, Asia and many other parts of the world.

Spear hunting is not only practised as a daily chore that will provide them with food, but it is a sport that everyone in the area loves to play. The sport includes hunting of deer, pigs, buffalo, and sometimes even fish.

With advancement and development, spears have also witnessed a change in its appearance and application both. Spearheads today are made of bronze, iron and even steel other than rock.

Many might say that the sport requires only one arm for throwing the tool. But there is more than just that.

When you throw a spear while hunting, it is not just your arm into action but your triceps, shoulders, back, and core muscles. Didn’t imagine it would take this much? Well, yes. When these four muscles act together, you’d be able to target your shot correctly.

Along with muscle power, you need to balance your mind and focus. This helps in targeting the prey accurately without your shot being missed. Running is yet another skill that you must be good at. After all, how will you plan to catch up on the target?
