How to save your business money

How to save your business money

Running a business is a hard task and whether you run a start-up or a multi-billion-pound organisation, keeping a close eye on your finances and costs is essential. If your business has managed to make it through the pandemic, you now have inflation and a pending recession looming to wade your way through. Luckily there are many ways in this new digital age to save your business money and in this article, we are going to discuss a few options.

1)      Use a Business Comparison Website

Business cost comparison websites are made for the sole purpose of saving you and your business money by comparing prices online so you don’t get ripped off by just one supplier. Be sure to compare all your costs regularly including energy, insurance, internet and office to ensure you’re not overpaying in any particular month.

2)      Automate Your Processes

In 2022 there are many processes currently being run by expensive humans that can be automated. Verifying data like emails and telephone numbers can be completed by admin staff for £18,000+ per year or it can be completed by a piece of software for £10 per month – you do the math! AI software and robots are getting extremely clever and efficient, and all businesses should look to see how they can help. An example of this automation in everyday life is the self-serve check outs at supermarkets. This may not look like Wally the robot, but it is a simplistic robot automating repetitive tasks.

3)      Don’t overpay on for Finance

Often young entrepreneurs or start ups take business loans early on in their journey to fund the business. Start ups are notoriously high risk and therefore interests rates can be as high as 20% per year. If you are a business that has taken an expensive loan, be sure to compare your other options to see if you could obtain the same amount of finance to pay off your existing loan but with a much lower interest rate now your business is more mature. You could also seek angel investors which would provide investment into the business for a small stake, which would stop you paying any monthly loan amounts which could be impacting your cashflow.

4) Seek a mentor

Across the lifespan of running a business there are many lessons learned the hard way and finding a mentor that has been there and done that is a great way of learning from other peoples mistakes, rather than making them yourself. Finding a mentor in general business or in your sector specifically can be invaluable to keeping your costs low. You may even decide to offer them a small wage and don’t be put off by the cost of doing so because you will often find the experience pays for this cost ten times over.

We hope you have found this article informative and helpful and we wish you the best of luck on your business journey whether you have started yet or not!

Algorithmic FUE Explained: How Structured Planning Is Changing Hair Transplantation

Few areas of cosmetic surgery have been reshaped by technique and technology as much as hair restoration. Extraction tools have become finer, magnification has improved, and planning has moved from freehand estimates toward structured, protocol-driven work. Yet patients who read about "advanced" or "revolutionary" methods often struggle to separate genuine clinical progress from marketing language. This guide explains how modern FUE works, what it means to plan a transplant algorithmically, how Algorithmic FUE fits into that picture, and how to judge any technology claim critically. From strips to follicular units: a short history For decades, the standard approach to hair transplantation was strip surgery: a thin band of scalp was removed from the back of the head, dissected under microscopes into follicular units, and implanted into the recipient zone. The method works and remains in use for selected cases, but it leaves a linear scar and requires a longer healing period. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) emerged as an alternative in which individual units of one to four hairs are removed directly from the donor area using a small circular punch. The scars are tiny and dispersed, which allows patients to wear short hair without a visible line. As tools and training improved, FUE became the dominant technique worldwide. Its flexibility also created a challenge: because the method can be adapted in many ways, results depend heavily on the surgeon's judgement and discipline. What "algorithmic" planning means in practice In everyday language, an algorithm is simply a defined sequence of decisions. Applied to hair transplantation, it means that the key choices of the operation, where grafts are taken from, which grafts go to which zone, at what angle and density they are implanted, follow a documented logic rather than being made ad hoc during surgery. A structured plan typically addresses several questions in a deliberate order: The value of a structured method is consistency. When each case is reasoned through the same sequence, it is less likely that an important variable will be overlooked on a busy day, and it is easier to review and teach the approach to other physicians. Algorithmic FUE at Hairmedico Clinic Algorithmic FUE is the proprietary technique name used at Hairmedico Clinic in Istanbul, founded and led by Dr. Arslan Musbeh. It describes the clinic's protocol-based approach to planning graft extraction and implantation, and it is applied within a one-patient-per-day schedule so that the surgeon can supervise each step of the procedure. Dr. Arslan Musbeh graduated from Odessa State Medical University in 2000, is an active member of FUE Europe, and has taught as a faculty instructor on the DIU Calvitie programme at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 since 2019. The clinic reports more than 4,500 procedures in total, with more than 3,000 performed personally by Dr. Musbeh. As with any proprietary method, patients should treat the name as a starting point for questions, and ask Dr. Musbeh during the consultation to explain exactly how the protocol applies to their own donor area and hairline. The anatomy of a well-planned FUE procedure Understanding each stage helps patients ask better questions and recognise what a careful operation looks like. Diagnosis and design. The surgeon examines the scalp, evaluates the stability of the hair loss and measures donor density. The hairline is designed with the patient, taking face shape, age and the likely future pattern of recession into account. The design should be reviewed and approved before the operation begins. Extraction. Using a fine punch, follicular units are removed from the donor area. The aim is to harvest evenly and to avoid creating zones that look thin once the hair is cut short. The depth and angle of the punch must match the direction of the follicle, otherwise there is a risk of transection, in which the follicle is cut and cannot grow. Sorting and storage. Grafts are counted, grouped by the number of hairs and kept in a suitable solution while they are outside the body. Short, controlled storage times support survival. Recipient site creation. Small channels are created at a predetermined angle, direction and depth. This stage is decisive for the natural appearance, as it fixes how each graft will sit and how the hair will grow. Implantation. Grafts are placed into the channels with attention to their orientation. Single-hair units go to the leading edge of the hairline, and multi-hair units are positioned behind it. Aftercare and review. The patient receives written instructions and a schedule for reviews during the first year. Tools and technologies: what they do and what they do not...
