How Is Medjool Date Paste Made?

Medjool date paste is made by boiling Medjool dates in water until they are soft, then blending them into a smooth paste. The paste can be used as-is or sweetened with honey or sugar to taste.

Amba Sauce – How Is It Made?

Amba sauce is made by fermenting unripe mangoes with vinegar and spices like turmeric, cumin, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, chilli peppers, garlic, ginger, and salt. The mixture is then simmered until thickened and strained to remove the solids.

Amba sauce is most commonly used as a condiment or dip, but can also be used in cooking. Try adding it to curries, stews, or marinades for a flavourful kick. 

You can also use it as a sandwich spread or to add flavour to roasted vegetables.

Nutritional Information for Amba Sauce

One tablespoon of Amba sauce contains 10 calories, 0 grams of fat, 2 grams of carbohydrates (1 gram of which is sugar), and 0 grams of protein. It also contains small amounts of calcium, iron, vitamin C, and various other minerals.

Taste Test – Amba Sauce vs. Medjool Dates

In order to get an idea of what these two foods taste like, we did a little taste test here in the office. Overall consensus? Both the Medjool dates and the Amba sauce were delicious!
