Install a glass image yourself

Have you purchased a glass picture for the living room? Let’s learn how to install it in an easy, convenient and correct way.

Before installing a glass picture on the wall, use the following tools.

Tools are needed to install a glass picture to the wall

  • The cardboard packaging of the glass image (will be used as a template for the installation).
  • Drawing tool (pen, pencil preferably).
  • Drill (a hammer is better if the wall is concrete).
  • 8 mm hand drill.
  • Dowel 8 mm 6h
  • Level (important for straight installation).
  • Extension cable if necessary.
  • Maskintape.
  • Spacers including screws provided by the manufacturer of the glass picture.
  • Step of preparing a sketch for installing a glass image
  • This very important step is the one that will make the installation easy and simple.

You can find more guides on the Fayzak magazine website

  1. Remove the glass image from the packing carton.
  2. Place the glass on the cardboard and with a pen or pencil mark around the glass the size of the glass.
  3. Mark the holes in the glass on top of the cardboard.

Step of drilling the holes in the wall to hang the glass

  1. Place the cardboard template you made on the wall where you are
  2. Interested in installing the image.
  3. Attach the stencil to the wall using Maskintape.
  4. Check with a level that the image is positioned straight (it is very important not to give up).
  5. Mount the 8 mm drill in the hammer and drill a hole in the markings on the cardboard template (the hole should be at the depth of the dowel).
  6. Check that the holes match the dowels before removing the cardboard template.
  7. Place the dowels in the holes you made in the wall.
  8. Using screws, mount the spacers provided by the supplier to the dowels in the wall. If the glass image is large, get the help of another person.
  9. Place the glass image on the spacers and screw the screws to the spacers.
  10. To finish, clean the glass image with window fluid and a microfiber cloth to prevent scratches.

Tip: under no circumstances clean the glass with a newspaper (the glass will be scratched).
