Omens are special currencies in Path of Exile 2 that you can get by trading tribute after finishing Ritual encounters. They help you guarantee a specific outcome, like a crafting result or an effect on your character. Once you use an omen, it disappears after the condition is met.
Let’s dive into the details of omens.
Omen of Corruption
Tag: Vaal Orb. While Omen of Corruption is active in your inventory, when used with a Vaal Orb, it removes the “No change” outcome as a possible result, making the outcome 1 of 3 effects instead of 1 of 4.
For Gems, the outcomes are as follows:
- (1/3) Permanently add or subtract one gem level. This is retained when upgrading the gem level using an uncut gem. Max level gems can exceed their normal maximum this way, but cannot go below Level 1.
- (1/3) Add or remove a socket.
- (1/3) ±10% to Quality, up to 23%.
For non-unique item, the results are as follows:
- (1/3) Reroll up to three modifiers.
- (1/3) Adds a special Vaal enchantment to the item.
- (1/3) Adds an item socket to martial weapons and armour, ignoring socket limits. For caster weapons, ±10% to Quality, up to 23%.
The above are just a few examples; for more details, refer to the official wiki.
The Omen of Corruption is highly valuable and challenging to farm, prompting many players to buy Path of Exile 2 currency to speed up their progression.

How to use Omens in Path of Exile 2?
To use an omen, right-click it. Keep it in your inventory, and it will work when the condition happens. You can use more than one omen if they are for related effects, like removing two modifiers at once. But using a new, unrelated omen might cancel the old one.
Remember, you can only use one non-crafting omen in each zone.
